Come and learn to make you own pair of cotton frilly knickers. This is a great project for a beginner sewer and a chance to try your hand at new skills in lingerie making. Basic machine skills required.

A change to learn knicker making techniques such as:

• Cutting out a pattern
• Elastic application
• French seams
• Sewing gusset
• Decorative edgings and ruffles
• Just bring along 1 m of prewashed cotton fabric, some matching sewing machine thread.

Bring your personal sewing kits and scissors if you can, but sewing kits can be provided if you can’t.

Liberty fabric available to buy on the day.

'Frilly Bits' book reviews...

I have just written a couple of lingerie book reviews over on the 'Frilly Bits' site. Take a peek they are ever so good, especially if you appreciate beautiful lingerie.

Spotty Powernet...how good can it get?

 

These have worked really well and the spotty powernet is brilliant and is slightly stronger so works well as a support panel on the front. I think though I still may make the gusset a little narrower. I am almost there on making the most delightful and perfect pants pattern!

I have been making fabulous pants.....

These are my best pants I have made yet!

The pattern is made from the basic waist brief block in Anne Hagger's Pattern cutting book 'Pattern Cutting for Lingerie, Beachwear and Leisurewear'.

The block came out very big so there were several versions before these lilac powernet beauties came into being. Am thinking spotty powernet next ...............

Bra for 'Frilly Bits' relaunch on Sunday

This is the bra i am making for the 'Frilly bits' relaunch this Valentines day. Its from an original 1946    Mc Calls Pattern.

This is my toile. I am thinking of making two, one a replica and one with power net back and some boning up the side panels for structure.

Its defiantly a good start and once i fit the pattern with some help ( i can never actually fit myself) i think there are lots of variations to be had of this lovely little bra.
