Vintage Cardigan Creations (Living Threads Risley)
Friday 2nd August 10-4pm
Using unwanted wool cardigans & jumpers form your wardrobe; through this class you will re cut, recreate & revamp them into new wearable items. Reflecting on decorative techniques seen on historical garments from 1910-1950, this inspirational period will offer ideas for decoration & embellishment. Looking at creative ways to add pockets, decorative appliqué, bead & hand stitch to create beautiful knitwear.

Learn the basics of dressmaking. From cutting out, sewing zips, darts and finishing seams and hems. Your first project will be a skirt.

Discover the basics of creating women’s clothing patterns. This is a practical course suitable for absolute beginners. Learn how to convert a flat piece of paper into a three dimensional garment shape, with the addition of a few well positioned lines.
