I am often asked how I make my flowers and head dresses. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn everything I know and have researched over the past 5 years about vintage flowermaking techniques. These corasages really do have that 'wow' impact as you can see from the shoot for this course.
Tuesday August 2013 – Friday 16th August 2013 10-4pm
Through this course you will use original pattern instructions from 1920s-1950s to make a variety of vintage ribbon and fabric flowers mounted as fascinators, headbands or as corsages. Ideal for those interested accessorising special occasion wear, as gifts or for bridal wear
This is a great opportunity to learn the lost skill of making handmade flowers, take inspiration from history and get creative! Through a series of practical demonstrations you will learn how to make flowers using a variety of materials such as ribbon-folded flowers, roses out of cotton organdie and felt flower bouquets. Your practical making sessions will be complimented by sessions on design and identifying sources of inspiration to ensure your work is considered and contemporary.
There will therefore be the opportunity to develop your own designs using the skills learnt and having explored the possibilities of each of the materials.
