Photo booth girl clutch bag

I have been working on some samples for an exhibition i am involved with in a couple of weeks. Part of what i have been made is a couple of handbags made from original 1940's patterns which i was given for Christmas. They looked like old leather work patterns and have been cut out of old newspaper sheets.

 
I made this bag out of an old blanket with lots of stiff interfacing inside to give it some structure.

I used a t-shirt transfer to get the image onto the bag, i initially wanted to apply it directly to the blanket but it would not fix to the loose weave of the blanket. Her name is June.

The lining and the binding around the edge was an old eiderdown that i have unpicked, i really love the worn floral prints.

My new static caravan..

I have recently been having many conversations about the joy of Whitby and some lovely people at Stitched Up group told me about La Rosa, it looks just amazing and i want to go. Even though i am not really a camping girl i think a kitch caravan holiday would be great. They also have just opened a bed and breakfast which looks great.
Well i was doing the usual visiting the charity shops between jobs and found my very own toy caravan , its an old corgy toy with a door that opens.

 I was so excited! When i got it home i realized the wheels are missing so it is really a static caravan. i have parked it outside my dolls house in my front room, i still need some folks to move in!

Sherwood Arts week

I am going to be taking part in Sherwood Arts week in June and have planned two mini workshops for Friday 19th June. There a bit of fabric fun and are part of a whole series of workshops run by local artists. I will keep you posted on more information as i get it as there will be lots of exciting things to get involved in and see.

My first workshop is making your own padded hanger, which will bring glamor to your wardrobe..

My second workshop is felt flower bracelets which are really lovely to make.

I will blog to finer details nearer the time.

Hello again...

Well i have been busy teaching over the past two weeks and have just finished a six week Boned Bodice class, which was best fun. Here is what wondrous things they made....
